Tribal Diagnostics Welcomes Experienced Director of Tribal Relations

Tribal Diagnostics, the first and only Native American owned and operated reference laboratory, is pleased to welcome Ms. Dawn Coley of the Penobscot Nation to the Tribal Diagnostics team as the Director of Tribal Relations.


As Director of Tribal Relations, Ms. Coley is instrumental in carrying out an important part of the company’s mission – partnering with tribes, connecting with rural communities and building partnerships with national and regional American Indian organizations.

As the only Native American owned lab, we are dedicated to serving Indian Country and rural communities and Ms. Coley is vital in that work,” said Tribal Diagnostics CEO Cory Littlepage.


Ms. Coley brings to Tribal Diagnostics a background in health care administration and over 30 years of impressive experience working in Indian Country. Ms. Coley’s extensive work with tribes include Vice President of Employee Services for Pequot Pharmaceutical Network where she helped create the infrastructure of two occupational health clinics for screening and preventative treatment services for 13,000 employees of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe.


“I’m really enjoying working for Tribal Diagnostics. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help build partnerships with tribes and tribal organizations for the company all while focusing on improving health care for our Native people,” said Ms. Coley.


Most recently, Ms. Coley served as the Director of Tribal Health Care Reform for the National Indian Health Board in Washington, DC. Ms. Coley led the national coordination for the U.S. Department Health and Human Services’ National Indian Health Outreach and Education intitiave focusing on educating tribes and tribal members about health coverage through the Affordable Care Act. Ms. Coley is certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to enroll individuals into the federal facilitated Health Insurance Marketplace.


As a Licensed Agent in life, health, accident, long-term care and Medicare supplement coverage plans, Ms. Coley was a manager at American General Life and Accident Company where she was responsible for $1.6 million in insurance premium dollars.


Ms. Coley attended Dartmouth College and graduated from the Sawyer School of Business in New Haven, Conn.
