Collection Instructions

A first morning mid-stream, clean-catch urine is preferred. Collect urine in urine collection cup, aliquot specimens into a BD Urine Preservative tube (red and yellow marble) followed by a BD Urine Culture tube (gray top). Urine tubes should be clearly marked with patient name, DOB, and time sample was collected. Samples should be sent refrigerated.
