Allow SST to clot in an upright position for at least 30 minutes, then centrifuge sample within 2 hours of collection. Transfer serum to a plastic transport tube. Freeze. Fasting sample is recommended.
Note: with diurnal variation, it is recommended that samples be collected at a consistent time of day. Morning samples taken between 7:30am and 12:00pm are advised. When multiple tests are ordered, submit a seperate tube for this test.
