Centrifuge sample and separate plasma from cells immediately. Transfer plasma to a plastic transport tube using a plastic transfer pipette. Clearly label tube as citrate plasma. Freeze.
Note: Validated reference is intended for use in evaluation of deep venous thrombosis/pulmonary embolus (dvt/pe). Results below cutoff have a high Negative predictive value for dvt/pe.
When multiple tests are ordered, submit separate tube for this test.
