Collection Instructions
Collect all urine over a 24-hr period in provided light-proof, 24-Hour Urine Collection Container. Empty your bladder when you first get up in the morning. Start collecting from the second void on the first day, record time. Refrigerate urine during collection and record total volume. Do not place the container in an area with bright light or in direct sunlight. Note: urinary 24 hour calcium is closely related to dietary intake. Upper reference interval given is for a normal calcium diet. For markedly restricted calcium intake, the lower level of excretion may be as low as 5 mg/dL.
